Moving pictures - Movies as sources for historical research (3-5 June 2010)
From 3-5 June 2010, the 24th Conference of Educational Science in Archives took place in Potsdam. It was organised by the working group "Archivpädagogik und Historische Bildungsarbeit" (Educational Sciences in Archives and Historical Education) of the German Archivist Association, VdA, in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (Department of Information Science - study course Archival Science), the state archive of the state of Brandenburg and the "Stiftung Deutsches Rundfunkarchiv Potsdam-Babelsberg" (Foundation of the German Broadcasting Archive Potsdam-Babelsberg). ›more (in German)
Potsdamer I-Science Tage (23-24 March 2010)
From 23-24 March 2010, the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and the FIZ Karlsruhe (Centre for Specialized Information, Karlsruhe) staged the "Potsdamer I-Science Tage" on the topic of "e-Science and Scientific Data Management". It offered possibilities for discussing central subjects such as Data Management in Science and for presenting solutions to known problems. ›more (in German)
"Teaching the Web" - W3C Germany and Austria Office Opening Event - 15 October 2009
What does "my community" need to know about the web? Is knowledge about web architecture as important as XML or Semantic Web technologies, or can we expect that sooner or later all details will be hidden beneath nice user interfaces? The opening event at the new location of the W3C Germany and Austria Office will bring people together who normally do not meet: web technology developers and "users" from a great variety of communities. The aim is to consider goals of education about the web, and how to ensure that the web will persist at the most important place - in our minds. ›more (in English)
