DataCreativityTools for Innovation and Research
DataCreativityTools for Innovation and Research is a project which stems from a cooperation of the Charité and the Faculty of Information Science. The main objective of this project is the development of a system for creative browsing. Members of the Charité will support this project with data from recent researches and in many other ways, e.g. by participating in the analysis of problems that might occur, in the development of solutions for these problems and in the creation of data-oriented innovations. ›more (in German)
CoPaL
CoPaL is the short form of "Communities of Practice für den Wissens- und Technologietransfer agrarwissenschaflticher Institute der Leipzig-Gemeinschaft" ("Communities of Practice for the Transfer of Knowledge and Technologies of the agronomical Institutes of the community of Leipzig"). This project was created in a cooperation with ATB (Leibniz-Institut für Agrartechnik Potsdam-Bornim e.V.) and ZALF (Leibnitz-Zentrum für Agrarlandschaftsforschung e.V. Müncheberg). ›more (in German)
Wibaklimadama
WibaKlimadama is the short form of "Wissensbasiertes Klimadatenmanagement" (Knowledge-based management of climatic data). With this project our department wants to participate in the improvement of the management if relevant climatic data in Brandenburg. Fundraising
Libraries and archives suffer from increasing financial difficulties. Some of their tasks can only be fulfilled with the help of additional means, which can only be obtained through fundraising. Librarians and archivists need to learn to think entrepreneurial and recognize fundraising as an important task in their work. The objective of this project was the publication of several essays who deal with research data of American and German studies on fundraising in the area of library and archival management. ›more (in German)

Creation of a media archive for the Faculty of Information Studies with m@rs
In the summer term 2010 students of the study courses Archival Science and Information Studies conceived a digital media archive for the Department of Information Studies. Starting with the winter term of 2010/11, this concept will be implemented with the help of mediamid digital services. ›more (in German)
Creation of a photo archive of the former German construction company Philipp Holzmann AG
In this projects students from the Faculty of Information Science and from the Department of Civil Engineering join forces to investigate the documents and the photo stock of the former German construction company Philipp Holzmann AG and to conceive a concept for the digitalization and making available of the photo stock. ›more (in German)
SIBYLLE. Fashion photography and the perception of women in the German Democratic Republic (GDR)
In the winter term of 2009/10 students from the Department of Information Science and from the Department of Cultural Work planned an exhibition on SIBYLLE, a fashion magazine for women in the GDR. The exhibition, which was opened on 13 may and closed 22 august 2010, was a cooperation between the above mentioned departments, the Haus der Brandenburgisch-Preußischen Geschichte (House of the History of Brandenburg and Prussia) and the Zentrum für Zeithistorische Forschung Potsdam (Centre for Historic Research Potsdam). ›more (in German)
DVD-Project "TV coverage in the German Democratic Republic"
This project took place in the winter term of 2009/10. It was a cooperation between the Stiftung Deutsches Rundfunkarchiv Potsdam-Babelsberg (Foundation of the German Radio Archive), represented by Dr. Jörg-Uwe Fischer and Angelika Hörth, and students of the seventh semester of the study course "Archival Studies" and culminated in the release of the DVD "TV coverage in the German Democratic Republic". Objective of the DVD was to enable students to work critically with original sources on the basis of an innovative, research-oriented teaching method and to independently create an audio-visual medium which is conceived for the use in seminars at the Faculty of Information Science. ›more (in German)
"MACHT BESSER! Citizen's movements in Potsdam in 1989"
This project was an inter-disciplinary cooperation of the Department of Information Science, the Department of European Media Studies, the Department of Cultural Work and the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Umweltschutz und Stadtgestaltung ARGUS (Work Group for Environmental Care and Civil Planning ARGUS). The project group created an exhibition which was opened 16 October and closed on 6 November 2010. The results of this exhibition are now available on DVD. ›more (in German)
Database Backups
Next to "traditional" media types, like texts and audio-visual media, new document types are created. A characteristic feature of these new document types, like e.g. websites or information systems, is interactivity. These interactive document types are based on database systems, which are difficult to archive, both from the technical and from the archival and information-scientific point of view. ›more (in German)
A Document Management System for the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam
In the course "Document Management" students of the fifth and of the seventh semester developed strategies for the introduction of an electronic records management system for the administration of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. ›more (in German)
The state opera "Unter den Linden" Berlin aims for the foundation of a digital media archive for its audio and video stocks. In the summer term of 2009, students of the sixth semester developed a concept for this archive, supervised by Prof. Dr. Angela Schreyer. ›more (in German)
